Women's Ministries in the Hansa Conference launch a new program

January 11, 2016

A new event organized by WM in the Hansa Conference had been in preparation for a long time and it was with excitement that we gathered in Lübeck in order to spend time with teenage girls, listening, sharing, eating and sleeping in the various rooms of the church. A whole bunch of teenage girls came to the G4C weekend, looking forward to the topic "Do you know how beautiful you are? See yourself with God's eyes!", and the pajama party. The program started on the Sabbath afternoon with a praise session with the "Girls4Worship" band and a devotional by Hannah Bendner, team leader for the project "One year for Jesus" in the North-Rhine Wesphalia conference, who reached the hearts of the girls right at the outset. The girls were between 12 and 20 and came from varied backgrounds. There were even five refugee girls for whom the program was translated so that they were able to participate. Some workshops had to be moved in order to provide handicapped access.
The evening worhip was held by the conference Youth department leader Benny Brunotte. After that the girls could choose from four breakout sessions:
WS1 "Smoothie Island" - healthy snacks. The spinach smoothie was the hit.
WS2 "Building a friendship" - knotting a friendship bracelet.
WS3 "Being like Queen Esther, beautiful inside and out" - how to care for your skin.
WS4 "You are valuable, unique and distinctive!" A discussion group.
In the discussion group the girls were given an envelope containing a letter from God and a small mirror. The text of the letter said: "You are beautiful, you are the child of a King. I wanted you, Your God." One of the refugee girls had tears in her eyes when she opened her letter and heard the translation of the text.
Due to the great variety of activities every girl found something of interest to her. Many girls told us that they would come again the next time. Due to the success of this first event we are looking forward to the next G4C in 2016
